Privacy Policy
How we handle the information you give us when you request a transfer. Last updated 9 October 2026.
This policy explains what happens to the personal information you provide when you use the quote form on this website, or contact us by phone or WhatsApp.
Who we are
The data controller for the personal information described in this policy is Ali Mesim Ghezal, trading as Solent Transfers, licensed by southampton city council. “We” and “us” in this policy mean Solent Transfers.
What we collect
When you send a booking request through this website, you give us:
- your name, email address and phone number
- your pickup and destination addresses
- your journey date and pickup time
- the number of passengers and items of luggage
- anything you choose to put in the additional details box — which may include a flight number, a ship name, child seat requirements or mobility requirements
Please only include information in the additional details box that is genuinely relevant to arranging your journey.
Why we collect it
We use these details for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and to arrange and carry out your transfer. That includes contacting you to confirm the journey, agreeing a price, and giving your driver what they need to collect you.
We do not use your details for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share your information with anyone for their own purposes.
What happens to your booking request
Submitting the form sends two emails: one to Solent Transfers containing your booking details, and a copy to the email address you provided. Your booking is also saved as a record in our booking database.
We keep that record because, as a private hire operator licensed by southampton city council, we are required by law to record the details of every booking we are asked to take: the passenger’s name, when the booking was made, the pickup time, the pickup point and destination, and the driver and vehicle that carried it out. Bookings made by phone or WhatsApp are recorded in the same way. The record is only accessible to us.
When we assign a driver to your journey, we email them the details they need to do it: the pickup time and addresses, the passenger’s name, your phone number, the number of passengers and bags, and anything you wrote in the additional details box. We ask drivers to use these only for your journey and to delete the email once it is done.
If you ask for an invoice or a receipt, we create it from that record and can email it to you.
Paying by card
If you pay by card, we send you a payment link by email or message. The link opens a payment page run by Stripe, our payment provider. You enter your card details on Stripe’s page: they go to Stripe and never reach us or this website.
To create the payment link we give Stripe your name, your email address if you have given us one, your booking reference, a description of the journey and the amount. Stripe tells us whether and when you have paid, and keeps the invoice and receipt for the payment, which we can view. We keep a record of the payment alongside your booking.
Who processes it
This website is hosted by Vercel, booking records are stored with Supabase, a database provider, our emails (including invoices, receipts, payment links and job details sent to drivers) are sent using Resend, an email delivery provider, and card payments are taken by Stripe, a payment provider. Each handles your data only to provide its service to us.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies on visitors, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads no third-party scripts or advertising. There is nothing here to consent to, which is why you have not been shown a cookie banner. (Our staff sign-in area uses a login cookie, but only for our own staff when they sign in.)
If you choose to contact us through WhatsApp, that conversation takes place inside WhatsApp and is subject to their own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Our licensing conditions require us to keep booking records for at least 12 months. Beyond that, we keep booking records and correspondence for as long as we need them to deal with any query, complaint or legal or tax obligation that follows from the journey. When they are no longer needed for those purposes, they are deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask us to delete it, and to object to how we are using it. To make any of those requests, contact us using the details below.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Contacting us about your information
